There's a new version of SALAMI out, which fixes a number of errors identified by Thomas Grill and Jan Schlüter. Many thanks to them!
The annotations now live on Github, which should make it easier for the community to discover and fix further errors. And although the production of cured meat is often best left unwitnessed, those interested can now see the version history of each file.
Another update is imminent: the release of new data. The original plan with SALAMI was to keep half of the data private for use in MIREX evaluations, and then to release it slowly after a few years. Now may be a good time to start the process—at least, some researchers have requested it!
Here's the proposed schedule: release, this week, one half of the private data (around 400 new songs) in time for testing your ISMIR 2015 submissions. We'd then release the next 1/4 in 2016, 1/8 in 2017, and the remaining 1/8 in 2018.
